Educational, Children's Hedgehog Books
We all learn in different ways, but for the teeny-tinies, it’s got to be interactive, joyful, and full of prickly charm. And guess what? Our very own Lynda Brignall has absolutely nailed it.
Who is Lynda? A retired NHS midwife turned hedgehog hero, Lynda is a passionate rescuer, educator, and proud supporter of Suffolk Hedgehog Hospital. She’s the author of two delightful children’s books: When I Go Out at Night (£11) and When I Come Out in the Day (£12). Both are beautifully illustrated by local artist Megan Last and are perfect for curious minds.
Lynda doesn’t just write — she travels to schools, libraries, and events to teach children about these precious prickles. Her stories are fun, educational, and full of heart.
Every penny from book sales goes directly to Suffolk Hedgehog Hospital, helping us feed, heal, and protect our spiky friends.
How to get your paws on these books:
Email us at suffolkhedgehoghospital@gmail.com or go to when I go out at night Facebook page & message. Postage is extra — but every stamp helps a snuffle!
So whether you’ve got kids, grandkids, nieces, nephews, or even a bedtime-story-loving pet, please grab a copy or two. You’ll be helping Suffolk hedgehogs and giving your little ones a magical gift.

SIR DAVID
ATTENBOROUGH
This picture was created by Lynda using AI to celebrate Sir David Attenborough’s 100th birthday. It shows Sir David, Lynda’s book, hedgehogs of course, and the letter he sent her after receiving her first book When I Go Out at Night. Thank you, Sir David, for the personal touch in your message wishing the book great success. And thank you, Lynda, for writing one of the best hedgehog books for tiny people!
